Biodome living with Matt Rudd - The Sunday Times Magazine

“How many cans of baked beans have you got there?”
“About 50”

It’s great to be part of a project that sheds light on society’s environmental footprint. And beans seemed to be the motto of the day when I went to visit Matt Rudd at the end of his four day stay in a biodome in Leamington Spa. The dome is the creation of artist Tom James and it imagines a world without oil… a frighteningly close reality. I ended up on a rickety old boat that leaked, in a compost toilet with Matt’s trousers around his ankles and making fires as the sun set over the lake.

A brilliant day and an awesome project to be part of. Thanks to Matt for being such a good sport, and of course, for the never-ending baked bean related jokes.
